Creative "Self Assets"

"Stress forces" like fear and anger dominate us and crowd out our creative nature, while removing us from our true self (a state of affairs recognised in expressions like "to be scared out of one's wits / out of one's skin " and "to be beside oneself with rage").

What protect us from these "forces" are attributes that promote our innate creativity, and that traditionally have been associated with the heart. These include:

contentment to weather compulsive desire , possessiveness and pride;

calm with which to survive the furnace of anger and the bite of shame;

courage enough to stand up to that bully, fear ;

compassion for our nearest and dearest, for our own self, and even for those from across the border;

connectedness and integrity ;

consciousness and caring , and commitment to one another and to truth.
