Hello, my name is Dr Matthew Jack and I am the author of this website and the accompanying book, The Creative Self.
The Creative Self sets out a new approach to tackling stress, destructive emotions and emotional distress through self-creativity, an approach that I have pioneered in my work as a family doctor, and that builds on work by pioneers like Martin Seligman and Carl Rogers.
Self-creativity
can play an invaluable part in alleviating "stress forces" like fear
and anger along with conditions like
anxiety and
depression, as well as in restoring our relationships and motivation.
These web pages and the book give an introductory indication as to the enormous potential of self-creativity, but you can also book a mentoring session to fast-track your progress in getting in touch with your own, innate self-creativity
and personal "therapist", namely your creative - real - self.
Of course, everyone is different, with unique strengths and vulnerabilities. A mentoring session allows the techniques and insights featured here and in the book to be tailored more closely to you personally.
Mentoring sessions can be arranged face-to-face in Cambridge or London, UK, but might be more practical to hold online or over the telephone.
